Hello, my name is Ruth, and I have a Havanese whose registered name is Querida. This means beloved friend in spanish. Her call-name is Keri. About ten years ago while I was visiting in Florida, I came upon an advertisement in the pet section of the newspaper. It mentioned "Havanese" puppies for sale. I was intrigued, and called the people in South Carolina who had advertised. I heard from them, but unfortunately they had no females. They did give me information and thus began a very long project in locating other Havnanese breeders. I called and wrote letters, went to one or two shows, and two years later was finally able to meet a woman named Astrid Whitman who had litters available in Cleveland, Ohio. I flew up there in May of 1994, saw the pups, selected Keri and returned home to Long Island with her in my arms. Her coloring as a baby was much different from that which it is now. She is a pleasure and a joy and every bit of effort I put in was more than worth it......

Keri's breed the Havanese, originated from Cuba and is related to the Bichon Frise and the Bichon Bolognese.
Keri is a pet therapy dog for Bide-a-Wee. She visits Nursing homes and Schools. She also participates in special events. Here she is at Barnes & Noble doing fund raising. Keri is also listed with Therapy Dogs International and has received the Good citizen award.
